I must admit, I had a chuckle reading this morning's reports. Perhaps Bailey was just waiting for me to call him a rag arm before pitching a no-no and making me look an even bigger fool!
Neither of these teams is lighting it up at the plate, although this looks like it'll be a bigger problem for the road team facing Matt Harvey, who continues to pull up trees. If he'd had any run support his figures would be even more impressive. As it is, he posts a 0.60/1.80 WHIP/ERA L3 (7-1, 2.00 ERA on the season) and should shackle the Diamondbacks.
Randall Delgado (0-2, 4.05 season) is 0-6 with a 4.28 ERA in his last nine outings, and like Harvey has suffered from a lack of run support. 1.44/3.50 L3 suggests he's no mug, but he's putting too many on base and had a rough time on the hill in his last game.
The Mets' bats showed some signs of life on Tuesday and the visitor's losing streak plays here, so I'll take the runline.
Pick: New York Mets -1.5 @ 2.25
44 - 52 (-6.09)
