Apologies for the brief absence, I've been busy these last few days and was making hurried picks that really needed a closer look (not the last pick suffered; if you go Over and a guy pitches the best game of his career, you're going to struggle!) so I thought I'd wait until I had a few minutes.
This is a bet on my list for today (rather than just a forced pick of a live game) as the lack of love for Niese and the Mets seems to offer some value.
The Mets are on a qualifying win streak and Niese is 3-0 with a 1.07 ERA against Washington in his last three against them: L3 he has a 0.86/0.82 line, so he's in form.
Ross Ohlendorf has put together some decent numbers (1.22/3.31 L3) and has been strong at home, but lately seems to run out of energy and concentration, meaning he hasn't got deep into games and is prone to the long ball: that could spell trouble with a NY offense that has picked up.
Pick: NY Mets @ 2.3
73 - 75 (+4.26)
