MLB - St. Louis at Milwaukee

Tuesday October 11th 1am
ESPN America

Starting Pitchers
St. Louis: Jackson (6-2, 3.54 ERA)
Milwaukee: Marcum (13-8, 3.77 ERA)

I didn’t like the look of the Cards by the end of the last game; they looked gassed and a little down, whereas the Brewers (who are irritating the hell out of me with all their bs) are rolling. The St. Louis’ offense is really struggling to get going; the famed 3/4/5 punch isn’t landing, whereas Braun, Fielder, et al are looking comfortable at the plate.

Marcum was shelled last time out against Arizona, and hasn’t pitched well at home during the regular season (5-4, 1.33/4.81 WHIP/ERA) Likewise, Jackson hasn’t exactly prospered on the road (2-2, 1.29/4.40) although he’s 4-0 in his last eight starts overall.

However, Marcum’s awful post-season numbers (.214/13.50 WHIP/ERA) suggest that St. Louis have a sniff here, and while I don’t trust either pitcher, I get the feeling the Cards might hit tonight after regrouping.

I’ll take the price and save it on the total.

Pick: Cards @2.28; 128; 32/25
Pick: Over 8.5 @ 2.00; 100; Evens
