St. Louis at Milwaukee

MLB

St. Louis at Milwaukee
Sunday October 9th 9pm
ESPN America

Starting Pitchers
St. Louis: Garcia (13-7, 3.56 ERA)
Milwaukee: Greinke (16-6, 3.83 ERA)

For those of you who can tear yourselves away from ‘Front Row’ Amy Williams ...

There’s a lot of bad blood here, so don’t be surprised, if the moment is right, to see ‘Tony Plush’ get plunked after his boneheaded Tweeting. Zack Greinke has decided to announce, "Nobody really likes Carpenter"; the Cards will be fired up.

Well, I like Garcia; he was pitching beautifully LTO, until he got taken deep by Ben Francisco after hanging one. Make no mistake; if he does that today, the Brewers have the power to hurt him again, but Garcia has a .253/.302/.377 line against this Milwaukee lineup and he was 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA against them this season.

The Brewers' starting rotation had a 6.75 ERA against the Diamondbacks (contrast the Cards’ pitching, which carried the stuttering offense) and Greinke has a .284/.325/.418 line against these hitters. He went 2-1 with a 3.15 ERA against the Cards this season, but his last outing saw him give up three homers and four earned runs, although he got the win - he’s not a 1.7 back.

The Cards won six of the last seven games between the clubs, and I’ll take them to win this first game, I’ll also take a little Overs with a 7.5 line and some nervous tension in the air!

Pick: Cards @ 2.35; 135; 27/20
Pick: Over 7.5 @ 1.87; -115; 20/23
